following summer camps are facilitated by the
SMART-Center, the hands-on science outreach serving the
Northern Ohio Valley since 1996.
The SMART-Center is a member of the Association of Science
and Technology Centers.
Gems Camp
(Girls Enjoying Math and Science)
July 20th and 21st, 2026
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For girls entering grades five through eight
Cost: FREE tuition with snacks, lunch, and materials provided.
Funding for GEMS Camp provided by a generous grant from the Women's Giving Circle through the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.
Learn and have fun at the same time with other girls who love math and science as much as you do.
This
year’s theme is “Dig Science” where we will explore geology,
paleontology and archaeology with hands on activities. Dr.
Elizabeth,
Rhenberg
of the WV Geological Survey, and Andrea Keller,
former grave
Creek mound museum educator, will also lead activities. GEMS
Camp
incorporates many areas of science and engineering. Fun math activities, too!
Fun With Physics Camp
August 3rd and 4th , 2026
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For students entering grades three through seven
Cost: Tuition for Fun With Physics Camp is $60. Camp fee covers snacks, lunches, and materials.
Have
fun with the concepts of pendulums, optical, illusions,
light, color,
and more. Play with toys and learn the physics
behind how they work.
All concepts will be explored through a variety of
engaging hands-on
activities, plus make and
takes. All activities are grade level appropriate, safe, & fun.
